We need volunteers

Friday is our first real home game at Tiger Stadium. We'll need lots of volunteers in lots of places. We've tried to make it as easy to possible to sign up-- just click on our SignUp Genius Link: http://bit.ly/OSBBC_2019Varsity

While you're there, please notice that you can also sign up for future dates. In this way, you can plan your season and pick your favorite spots to help. It also means that we can look ahead and forecast the positions that will need to be filled.

If navigating SignUp Genius seems daunting, please don't hesitate to reach out to Jocelyn Ray, our outstanding volunteer coordinator. Also, you may have questions about what each job entails. Jocelyn's done every job and would love to talk to you about it. Email Jocelyn at: VolunteerCoordinator@osbb.club.

Volunteering is a key component of the band boosters - we really expect our parents to pitch in to help. We deliberately keep our band fees low to encourage as many students as possible to participate in the marching band program. But this means we rely even more on our band boosters to help make up the difference with volunteer efforts.

Our band is also somewhat smaller than it was last year. Several of our key volunteers from last year were senior parents. All of this adds up to a scenario where every single volunteer is critical. We really need you.

One more thing that might surprise you if you haven't volunteered with the band boosters before: it's fun. You get to be involved in an extremely worthwhile endeavor, support your marcher, and meet other fantastic family members. It is the analog to the student experience: students join and build a band family through their participation in the band; parents/family members connect to other motivated volunteers as well. We all have a good time.

Come join us!

Thanks!!
